My other "baby", Ainsley, who is now a teenager, is taking an educational "literary" tour to Dublin and London with her school, Sharon High School.
I thought I would post this, as a SAHM/WAHM with one daughter in her terrible twos and one entering (what my husband has dubbed) her terrible teens. But seriously, Ainsley is dedicated to her studies. She loves to read and loves history. She is excited to see and learn about these countries first hand instead of from the pages of a book.
I'm also very proud of her as she flourishes at Sharon Middle School. Ainsley has just begun her eighth grade year. Last year, the Catholic school she had attended since Kindergarten closed and we decided to send her to our local public school.
At Sharon Middle School, Ainsley has participated in The Great Book Race, Student Government, Drama Club, Chorus, French Club (8th grade), and was selected to be in the chorus for the high school musical, "Seussical", as "Who Child #2". Sharon High School has been an excellent fit for her.
In addition to her academic activities, Ainsley has been very busy fundraising for her trip. She has been dog sitting and babysitting this summer, selling candy bars like crazy (thanks to everyone she has been hitting up on a continual basis!), working at Bruster's with fellow trip-goers, and her younger cousin even organized a "face painting" stand with lemonade and brownies. They raised $60! Every penny counts.
Future fundraising events include the group selling Sharon Tiger "Spirit Towels" at athletic events, and holding a Chinese auction at the Middle School and High School Open House and homecoming game.
It's going to be a busy school year!

Going to NYC and taping of Dr. Oz Show
Dr. Oz will be discussing Moms having babies over 40 and fertility/infertility issues on his show to be taped this Friday. I will update this page the second I find out when this show will air. If you live in the NYC area, please call 212-664-3056, option 4, for tickets.
So, I'm headed to NYC this Fri, Dec 9, 2011 to be part of the Dr. Oz Show. Such a great honor to be a part of the audience that sits on the stage and I may be asked to add my two cents to these very important issues.

Chasing around a two-year-old!
It's been awhile since I've reported on Camille and her adventures. As you can see by the title, it can get more tiring chasing around a two-year-old than taking care of a tiny baby. Who'd'a thunk it? I guess any mom who's gone through it, that's who!
I have been having some minor health issues that may prompt me to start a new blog. If I do that, I will post it here, of course. I don't know if anyone will be interested but the issues are hormonal in nature, I believe.
I will be updating more soon about Camille's Adventures!!

Camille (and Ainsley) brushes her teeth for the first time!
I've been so worried about Camille with her teeth and her crib! She has been waking up and scraping her teeth on the railing of her crib. It took over a week for her to chew the railing down as much as a glacier might erode in thousands of years (okay, that might be a slight exaggeration!). She did wear it down quite a bit as to where the wood was peeling off in strips. Don't ask me how exactly she did this huge damage in such a short span of time but we did not have this problem with Ainsley (she never slept in her crib!) and we were at a loss as to how to handle this. We realized how dangerous this was and were trying to come up with a solution.
